This compact, versatile gas barbecue weighs 4 kg and comes with at least three different cooking surfaces; a burner with potstand, a BBQ grid and a lid/dome ( the lid/dome can also be used as a pot).
The BBQ grid is provided with CADAC GreenGrill coating; a ceramic coating for healthier and cleaner cooking. Thanks to the integrated heat diffuser under the BBQ grid, the heat is well distributed over the entire cooking surface.
The removable fat pan catches cooking residues, but at the same time protects the Safari Chef's burner from wind to prevent the burner from blowing out. You can easily clean all the surfaces with soapy water.
The Safari Chef is available as a low pressure unit (LP) and as a high pressure unit (HP). This LP version works with a hose and pressure regulator on a refillable gas bottle or with a CADAC Power Pak. Note: gas bottle, pressure regulator and / or Power Pak are not included. The Safari Chef HP works directly on an EN417 gas cartridge.
The Safari Chef is easy to take with you thanks to the foldable legs and convenient carrying bag. This is an ideal BBQ for use at the campsite, on the balcony or in the park!
As of 2021, the diameter of the BBQ has been added to the product name of the barbecue and its accessories. For example, the product name Safari Chef 2 has been changed to Safari Chef 30 and can be used with the accessories from the 30 series. HP means High Pressure and a HP barbecue works directly off a gas cartridge. Low Pressure (LP) barbecues work off a gas cylinder or Power Pak and can be connected with a regulator & hose.
In 2025, the name of the Safari Chef 30 Lite was changed to Safari Chef 30 Combo. The Safari Chef 30 Lite and the Safari Chef 30 Combo come with the same accessories: a BBQ grill, pot support, and lid/pan. Our camping barbecues have a removable, enameled grease collection tray, which can be easily lifted out for cleaning. Our grill grids, plates, and pans are simple to clean thanks to the ceramic non-stick coating. Both the grease tray and most cooking surfaces are dishwasher-safe but can also be cleaned with a sponge and soapy water!

The CADAC GreenGrill coating is harder and more durable than a regular non-stick coating. It withstands higher temperatures, distributes heat better, and retains it more efficiently, resulting in lower gas consumption while cooking & grilling.
