The summer holidays are over. Of course, that does not mean that the BBQ season is also over. In September and October, we can still expect some very nice days, so it's not yet time to put away your barbecue. We are going to enjoy a wonderful Indian Summer!

Recipes for an Indian Summer feeling

We often think that when the summer holidays are over, summer is over as well, but nothing is further from the truth. For the last few years, September and October have been the perfect time to enjoy a late summer, barbecue outside with friends or family and prepare the most delicious recipes. An added bonus is that there are fewer wasps in the garden at this time of year!

We think these recipes fit the real Indian Summer feeling:

Gas or electric barbecuing

The days are a little shorter and the temperature drops more quickly in the evening than in July, for example. With a gas or electric BBQ you don't have to wait long to reach the right temperature, so you can start right away and enjoy the sunshine while it is still there. The advantage of an electric BBQ is that you can set the temperature exactly. A gas BBQ has no plug and can be placed anywhere in the garden.

Tips for a long late summer evening

Should it be a long evening, how do you make sure that your guests are not shivering in the garden or on the balcony? Here are a few tips:

  • Have some blankets ready. If your guests start to get cold during dinner, they can place a warm blanket on their legs.
  • Set up a fire basket. Not only does this look very cosy, but the fire also gives off heat, which is very pleasant when the temperature drops in the evening.
  • Do you have a canopy in the garden? Then sit under it. Often the heat from the day lingers under a canopy so it doesn't cool down as much in the evening.
