A gas barbecue works on butane, propane or a mixture of these two types of gas. The difference is the boiling point; the temperature at which it changes from liquid to gas and vice versa. At a lower temperature, gas becomes liquid and therefore unusable for your barbecue. With butane this boiling point is around 0°C and with propane at about -42°C. This makes Butane unusable for a winter barbecue or for use at high altitudes however, it is more affordable and more efficient than Propane.

Our gas hoses and pressure regulators comply with the highest safety level and European standards and regulations. There are no strict requirements for replacing your gas hose, but we recommend to replace your gas hose every 5 years. Unless the expiration date on the hose dictates an earlier replacement date. Also the shelf life depends on what kind of environment the gas hose and pressure regulator are used in. If the gas hose comes into frequent contact with, for example the sun or seawater, it will not last as long. We recommend to check the hose regularly. In case of cracks, wear or porosity, the hose must be replaced immediately.
Please note: regulations may vary per country.
After use, you can dispose of your empty gas can or cartridge with the residual waste in the gray container or hand it in as scrap iron at the recycling center in your area.

A gas pressure regulator (together with a gas hose) is the connection between a gas bottle and, for example, a gas barbecue. The gas pressure regulator ensures that the gas pressure coming out of the gas bottle is reduced. This way you can safely connect a gas barbecue or stove to it. Which gas pressure regulator you need depends on the type of gas supply you choose. You can read more about this topic in the blogs below.

With a hose tail you can easily screw your gas hose to, for example, a gas barbecue. Do not forget to use a hose clamp (usually not included) to clamp the hose properly around the hose tail. The ridges on the hose tail provides a good seal.

It is possible to use the E Braai while camping, if you have enough power available. The E Braai uses 2,3kW. This is comparable to 10 ampere. On many camping spots you can use about 6 to 10 ampere. That is not enough for the E Braai, because you also use power for example a refrigerator and lighting. It is important to always check in advance how many ampere you have available when you go out camping.

The first choice to make is the one between charcoal, gas or electric. It is forbidden to barbecue on charcoal at many campsites in Europe. An electric barbecue quickly consumes 2400 watts of electricity, which is way too much for most campsites. In addition, it must always be in the vicinity of an electrical outlet. Gas barbecues are therefore the most suitable barbecues to take with you on vacation.

Both cooking surfaces are divided into 2 parts. The BBQ Plancha consists of half a BBQ grid and half a baking plate (plancha). The Grill 2 Braai has half a grill plate and half a baking plate.
