This compact, versatile gas barbecue weighs less than 4 kg and comes with at least four different cooking surfaces; a burner with potstand, a BBQ grid, a grill plate and a lid/dome (the lid/dome can also be used as a pot).

The BBQ grid is provided with CADAC GreenGrill coating; a ceramic coating for healthier and cleaner cooking. Thanks to the integrated heat diffuser under the BBQ grid, the heat is well distributed over the entire cooking surface.

The removable fat pan catches cooking residues, but at the same time protects the Safari Chef's burner from wind to prevent the burner from blowing out. You can easily clean all the surfaces with soapy water.

The Safari Chef is available as a low pressure unit (LP) and as a high pressure unit (HP). This LP version works with a hose and pressure regulator on a refillable gas bottle or with a CADAC Power Pak. Note: gas bottle, pressure regulator and / or Power Pak are not included. The Safari Chef HP works directly on an EN417 gas cartridge.

The Safari Chef is easy to take with you thanks to the foldable legs and  convenient carrying bag. This is an ideal BBQ for use at the campsite, on the balcony or in the park!

FAQ

What is the difference between the Safari Chef 2 and the Safari Chef 30?

As of 2021, the diameter of the BBQ has been added to the product name of the barbecue and its accessories. For example, the product name Safari Chef 2 has been changed to Safari Chef 30 and can be used with the accessories from the 30 series. There’s no technical differences, it is only the product name that changed.

Which BBQ is the most suitable for camping?

The first choice to make is the one between charcoal, gas or electric. It is forbidden to barbecue on charcoal at many campsites in Europe. An electric barbecue quickly consumes 2400 watts of electricity, which is way too much for most campsites. In addition, it must always be in the vicinity of an electrical outlet. Gas barbecues are therefore the most suitable barbecues to take with you on vacation.

What's the difference between a HP and an LP barbecue?

HP means High Pressure and a HP barbecue works directly off a gas cartridge.
Low Pressure (LP) barbecues work off a gas cylinder or Power Pak and can be connected with a regulator & hose.

What is the difference between the 30, 40 and 50 gas barbecues?

CADAC barbecues are known for the 'modular system'; many interchangeable BBQ accessories are available to expand your CADAC barbecue. Think of pizza stones, paella pans or baking/grill plates. By adding the diameter of the BBQ to the product names, it becomes easier to know which accessories are suitable for your specific CADAC barbecue.
The Safari Chef will become the Safari Chef 30 and can be used with the accessories from the 30 series. The Grillo Chef barbecue becomes the Grillo Chef 40 and the Carri Chef gas barbecue will become the Carri Chef 50. The accompanying BBQ accessories will also fall under the 30, 40 and 50 models from 2021.
